According to Dario Amodei, CEO and co-founder of AI startup Anthropic, this future could arrive as early as next year.
Speaking at Anthropic’s “Code with Claude” developer conference in San Francisco, Amodei made a bold forecast: AI will soon empower solo entrepreneurs to scale businesses to billion-dollar valuations, effectively replacing entire startup teams with intelligent automation.
“The trajectory of AI is moving fast — and we’re reaching a point where a single skilled individual, paired with advanced AI, can accomplish what once took dozens, even hundreds of people,” said Amodei. “By 2026, we’ll likely see a one-person company hit the billion-dollar mark.”
Anthropic is positioning itself at the center of this transformation. The company recently launched Claude Opus 4, which it claims is the most powerful coding model in the world — capable of writing, debugging, and optimizing complex software with minimal human input.
As AI continues to evolve, Amodei’s prediction is both a wake-up call and a glimpse into a radically different business landscape — where talent, tools, and technology converge to redefine what it means to be a founder.
