Leicestershire County Cricket Club has announced Emma White as its new Chief Executive Officer, with her tenure officially beginning on September 1. White will succeed Sean Jarvis, who has led the club since 2020 and is stepping down this autumn after a successful five-year term.
White brings with her a wealth of experience in sports management. She previously served as Managing Director at Doncaster Knights, a Championship rugby union team, and held leadership roles at Limerick and Sedgefield Racecourses. Her appointment marks a significant moment for the club as it continues to evolve both on and off the field.
“I’ll be joining equipped with a range of experience and a proven track record in driving success in the sector,” White told the club’s website. “Sean has done a wonderful job and the club is in a great position; my aim is to build on this success, leveraging the opportunities brought about by The Hundred.”
Under Jarvis’s leadership, Leicestershire enjoyed a resurgence, most notably lifting the 2023 Metro Bank One-Day Cup — their first trophy in 14 years. Jarvis reflected on his time with the club by saying, “I’m proud to be departing with the club in such a great position for the start of a new era. We now have a team that can compete on all fronts.”
Leicestershire’s historic home, Grace Road, has hosted the club since its first match in 1878, and it remains central to their ambitions. Currently, the Foxes are enjoying a strong season in red-ball cricket, sitting top of Division Two in the County Championship — 28 points clear of Glamorgan — with promotion looking increasingly likely.
However, in white-ball competitions, the club has had a more challenging run. They are currently sixth in Group A of the One-Day Cup, having suffered three defeats in their opening five matches.
With a fresh leadership vision and strong momentum in the longer format, White’s arrival signals a new chapter for Leicestershire. Her focus will be on maintaining competitive success while seizing commercial and fan engagement opportunities in an increasingly dynamic cricket landscape.
