Huang, who heads the renowned tech giant Nvidia specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) and accelerated computing, was one of 15 influential tech industry leaders attending the event at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel.
During the discussion, Huang proclaimed, “This is India’s moment. You have to seize the opportunity.” He highlighted India’s growing prominence in the field of AI, noting that the country is home to some of the world’s greatest computer scientists. Nvidia is eager to partner with India, particularly as AI transforms into a vital, new-age manufacturing industry.
Huang was deeply appreciative of his meetings with Prime Minister Modi, praising the leader’s thirst for knowledge about the future of AI and its potential impact on Indian society and industry. “Every time I meet with Prime Minister Modi, he is eager to learn about the opportunities AI brings for India’s growth,” said Huang.
Nvidia’s involvement in India’s tech ecosystem runs deep, as Huang pointed out that every Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) now hosts an Nvidia AI Centre of Excellence. These centers aim to prepare students for the future by enhancing their AI skills, supporting the country’s growing startup economy—currently the third-largest globally.
Huang stressed that for India’s startup ecosystem to continue thriving, robust AI infrastructure is essential. With India at the forefront of AI innovation, the collaboration between Nvidia and the country’s tech talent pool is poised to unlock vast opportunities.
