Nestlé has announced the immediate dismissal of CEO Laurent Freixe following an internal investigation that revealed an undisclosed romantic relationship with a subordinate—an action deemed a clear violation of the company’s code of conduct.
In a statement released Monday, the Swiss multinational food and beverage giant confirmed that Freixe’s departure was effective immediately. The investigation, initiated after concerns were raised internally, found that Freixe had failed to disclose a romantic relationship with a direct report, breaching the company’s ethical guidelines on workplace conduct.
Laurent Freixe had been with Nestlé for nearly four decades, beginning his career in 1986. He was appointed CEO in 2024 and had served exactly one year in the role. His departure marks a significant shake-up at the top of one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies, known for brands such as Nescafé, KitKat, and Purina.
The company emphasized its commitment to upholding corporate integrity and accountability, regardless of rank or tenure.

The board has appointed Philipp Navratil, a seasoned Nestlé executive, as the new CEO. Navratil has held multiple leadership roles within the company, most recently heading its coffee division. He is expected to bring stability and continuity during this transition.
