President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. The appointment marks a significant new chapter for the global all-inclusive resort leader, following a thorough evaluation and succession process initiated by outgoing CEO Henri Giscard d’Estaing.
Maquaire, a seasoned French executive with an extensive international background in the consumer and retail sectors, will lead the company from its global headquarters in Paris. His appointment was strongly endorsed by the board and key leadership at Fosun International, the parent company of Club Med.
“In Stéphane, we have chosen a leader with deep experience in the consumer sector and a remarkable international track record,” said Xiaoliang Xu, Co-CEO of Fosun International and Chairman of Club Med Holding. “He is ideally positioned to accelerate Club Med’s momentum and write the next chapter of this extraordinary story.”
Xu also paid tribute to Henri Giscard d’Estaing, who led Club Med for over 20 years, crediting him with redefining the brand as a global symbol of French hospitality and lifestyle.
Before joining Club Med, Maquaire served as Executive Director for Carrefour Brazil and Latin America, overseeing complex transformations across markets. His leadership background combines expertise in premium brand repositioning, commercial real estate, and international market development.
In his first statement as CEO, Maquaire reflected on Club Med’s legacy:
